European National Team Championships 2012 – Division 3

National coach Daniel Verhoeven recently nominated the team that will represent Luxembourg at the European National Team Championships 2012 – Division 3, which will be held in Malta, between April 18 and 21.

The nominated team is: Sanjay Raval, Niall Woodger, Danny Hutchines, Daniel Kaiser & Mark Radley.

20 teams and 90 players will compete in this event. In the men's competition, the following teams have entered: Malta, Ukraine, Russia, Norway, Sweden, Croatia, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Isle of Men, Gibraltar, Poland, Lithuania and Turkey.

ESF Level 2 Coaching Course 2012

LJO – KPMG & AMS Luxembourg Junior Open

Luxembourg is proud to host the second Junior Squash Open sponsored by KPMG and AMS at the Top Squash club in Sandweiler from 20th – 22nd April 2012. The event is now an established annual tournament in the calendar of the European Squash Federation’s junior circuit.

National Squads Training

In order to prepare for an international tournament in Namur in February and the ETC Level 3 tournament in Malta in April, on the basis of a recommendation from the National Coach, Daniel Verhoeven, the following players have been selected for the senior National Squads based on their current level, their availability and their contribution and commitment to the squad.

Women: Sandra D., Hanna R., Lauren C.
Men: Sanjay R., Niall W., Daniel K., Danny H., Stephane A., Marc R., Marc L., Guillaume P., Marcel K., Eric P., Jean-Claude S.

Training will now begin in January before final selection of the teams to go to the competitions.

Junior Squash: Communities Cup Sensation

November 20^th, 2011, the Communities Cup was held at TopSquash.

With more than 30 juniors from all over Luxembourg competing in the tournament the “Cup” was deemed a huge success by everyone. From new-comers to more established players, titanic battles between players ensued across the board and resulted in a brilliant competition.

Rappel concernant les médicos

Chaque joueur doit être en ordre de médico pour être autorisé à jouer dans le championnat FSL ou la coupe.

Il est obligatoire dès l’âge de 12 ans et jusqu’à 50 ans, âge de la dernière visite auprès de l’INS ou d’un médecin agréé.
A partir de 51 ans, chaque joueur doit se rendre une fois par an chez son médecin de famille qui devra établir après examen un certificat mentionnant l’aptitude du joueur à la pratique du squash en compétition. Ce document doit être transmis au responsable des licences/médicos (E.Pécheur) soit en main propre, soit par courrier ou soit par email (contact@fsl.lu).

Un joueur est autorisé à jouer le jour même de sa visite médicale si les examinateurs lui ont confirmé son aptitude. Cependant un contrôle est effectué dès réception du médico par la CT. Si un joueur a effectué un match avant la date de l’examen médical, la rencontre de son équipe et les rencontres des équipes inférieures seront automatiquement transformées en forfait.

3 times silver, 1 bronze

The "LieGames2011" is now history! It was a very successful event for the Luxemburgish squash-team. In fact, we are proud to come home with 4 medals (out of 4 possible!): silver for the men's team, bronze for the women's team, and twice silver for Sanjay Raval and Sandra Denis in the individual event!
